Dr. Martin Moore-Ede, who runs a sleep institute, says that workers in round the clock industries suffer a higher rate of illness, divorce and death than people who work normal day shifts.

The problem is that industry and the infrastructure are designed to keep machines running smoothly but ignore the people who run them.
