Thousands of people say they have seen them. Hundreds of people claim they have been kidnapped by them. In 1947, a pilot made the first reported UFO sighting a formation of disks flying over Mount Rainier at speeds over 1,200 miles per hour. Within weeks, UFO accounts began flooding in including now-famous reports of an alien crash and U.S. military cover-up in Roswell, New Mexico. By 1961, UFO mania had taken a new twist: under hypnosis, people began relating detailed stories of abductions by aliens. Could these sightings and memories be a part of Cold War hysteria?
