Details the chaos after Ivan the Terrible's death, the introduction of serfdom and the expansion of Russia under Peter the Great.

Fight for power after Peter died, Empress Elizabeth takes control and the rise of Catherine the Great. Followed by Paul's disastrous reign and Alexander's war against Napoleon.

　Episode 4

Nicholas fights the Crimean War, Alexander the Second attempts to modernize while clamping down on dissent, the Sino-Russian War under Nicholas the Seconds and the rise of Marxism under the Bolsheviks.
