2011年08月05日，国家地理频道摄制组上周五抵达在5月份的地震中严重受创的穆尔西亚小城Lorca拍摄“欧洲的诞生”系列纪录片，摄制组的拍摄重头戏是Lorca的千年古迹。据了解，国家地理这次共在西班牙的三个地方拍摄这部纪录片，抵达Lorca以前他们已经在塞维利亚的Minas del río Tinto和直布罗陀的岩山完成了拍摄。这三个部分的系列纪录片横跨了欧洲大陆，通过史诗般的故事展现欧洲大陆的地理形成和大自然的力量如何影响人类生活。纪录片的第一集覆盖北欧，第二集介绍中欧，最后第三集落定于南欧。
