New series. The return of the programme following the daily workings of the haulage company. Mark Dixon takes on a treacherous 500-mile mission to transport a 25-ton load of logs to Kent, while Tim Fox collects 27 tons of salt from the oldest working mine in the UK. At London Southend Airport, a new state-of-the-art aeroplane de-icer is put to the test, and Ashley Maddocks takes on the nightmare of London traffic on a multi-drop day
Episode 2
Tim Fox takes on Craig Garside in a race to deliver a shared load of sawdust to north Wales, while Mark Dixon braves wintry conditions as he heads to a farm. Matt Ekins takes a truck to an art gallery in central London where there is an exhibition of Stobart spotters’ photographs, and Ashley Maddocks transports a state-of-the art trailer-cum-classroom to a secondary school in Cambridgeshire
Episode 3
Paul Steele puts his new truck to the test on one of Britain’s most dangerous roads as he delivers a load of plants, while tanker driver Mark Ashurst faces freezing conditions on a night drive through the Lake District to the company’s Carlisle depot. Down at Southampton docks, Gareth Ayres must safely load luxury cars worth £1million onto his transporter and then drive through the rain to reach an overnight stop. Ian O’Neill gets lost when his sat nav fails him on a run to the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and he must negotiate a tricky route through the busy London traffic, encountering closed streets and blocked turns as he endeavours to deliver pallets of water in time to quench the thirst of guests attending an award ceremony
Episode 4
Freezing fog in the Pennines threatens to stop Craig Garside delivering a load of loose peat, while Dave Pickerill has two days to make 10 drop-offs around the outskirts of London. A motorway accident forces Andy Thornton to take a huge detour on his 278-mile trek from Middlesbrough to Magor, Monmouthshire, while transporter drivers Gareth Ayres and Ian Denton carry new cars ahead of the number-plate deadline
Episode 5
Experts from the company’s rail division are called in to help transport a 24-ton replica plane to Southend Airport for use in fire simulation exercises. Jimmy Callaghan is on a tough multi-drop mission around Manchester when his truck gets stuck in a packed car park, leading to an altercation with a concerned driver. Ian O’Neill has to battle through snowy conditions to complete two deliveries and some lucky members of the firm’s fan club get a tour of Stobart’s Crick depot before staff relocate to a new site
Episode 6
Craig Garside is presented with an unwelcome mathematical problem when collecting clay pellets from a factory in Goole, East Yorkshire. Matt Ekins is leaving his post as a driving trainer to go back on the road, but a traffic snarl-up threatens to disrupt his first delivery, while Dave Pickerill collects a load of chocolate from a warehouse in Leicestershire. Ashley Maddocks takes a scenic route through the Lake District as he goes to pick up bottled water, but he finds himself battling severe weather
Episode 7
Jimmy Callaghan battles freezing winter conditions on a triple drop in the Lake District, while Eddie Myers is hauling 100,000 empty beer cans to a depot in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire. In Cumbria, Tim Fox experiences delays as he delivers a cargo of woodchips to a power station, caused first by his fear of sheep, then by a long wait to offload
Episode 8
Tim Fox embarks on a biomass delivery, starting in Cumbria, going on to Northumberland and ending at a power station north of the border, and fleet head David Cox heads to Sweden to assess Volvo’s next generation of fuel- efficient tractor units. Matt Ekins has only been back on the road for a week when he is handed a Friday run around London, and there is a report on the team that keeps the wagons spick and span
