The observational documentary series about the iconic haulage firm, Eddie Stobart, returns with bigger and better trucks and more time-laden jeopardy. Their 2000 drivers cover the distance to the moon and back every day, making deliveries every 4 seconds.

Eddie Stobart s trucks are a familiar sight on the motorways of Europe and they play a massive role in keeping freight moving across the UK & the continent.

Now the Stobart trucks, with their female names and distinctive livery, are featured in this new DVD release of the second series of the Channel Five series, Eddie Stobart Trucks and Trailers. But this four DVD box set is not just about trucks it s also about the men and women that keep the Stobart trucks rolling 24 hours a day.

For the truckers, planners, and bosses of Eddie Stobart, time is money, and jams, breakdowns and empty trailers are cash down the drain.

Stobart make a delivery every 4.6 seconds, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It’s a company of five thousand people, driving two thousand trucks, packing three thousand trailers, running two ports, two airports and endless freight trains.

In each episode we tell stories which will have characters facing high stakes. We’ll get to know the bosses who watch every penny from the control room and negotiate multi-million pound contracts. We’ll see the men and women who move millions of pounds of stock in and out of the huge warehouses and container ports filled with everything that keeps Britain going. But we’ll also find out about the quirky traditions and routines that have made Stobarts a national treasure - and even meet the “Eddie spotters” who spend their free time in search of Stobart lorries…

All the time the clock will be ticking. Will they get the fridge trucks to the supermarket before the fresh food goes bad? Can they shave vital minutes - and thousands of pounds - off the time taken to unload and turn around a container ship? Can our tramper get home in time for his son’s school play?

This is the story of the people who race against time, all night and day, in the wind, the rain and the snow, to get everything you eat and buy delivered to you.

New series. The managers celebrate the company’s 40th anniversary by sponsoring a charity ball at London’s Battersea Power Station. A new truck is due to take centre stage at the prestigious event, but the plan is jeopardised when the driver crashes the vehicle en route. Elsewhere, a runaway bull stops another employee in his tracks

The company invests £55million on 750 new vehicles, and truck spotters who won a fan-club competition receive a sneak preview of the lorries before they hit the road. A driver decides to try a healthy eating plan in an effort to lose 7st, cutting down on fast-food and exercising in his cab

Fiona Soltysiak faces a tight schedule to make eight deliveries of chilled produce during her shift, travelling around Newark, Grimsby and Hull, before transporting boss Andrew Tinkler’s horses from Darlington to Manchester Airport in a state-of-the-art vehicle. Ian Wilkinson hauls heavy machinery to Durham, where it is needed to help replace a bridge, and interviews take place when the company gains a contract to deliver tyres to Formula One races

A driver in Dublin worries as he transports an unstable load of bottles along country lanes, and another trucker delivers wood to a power station. Elsewhere, an employee puts himself forward to test out a new trailer

A trucker transporting 4,000 Easter eggs plans his route carefully because his lorry is fuelled by liquid natural gas, which is only sold at four service stations in England. Mark Ashurst delivers fuel to a rival haulage firm, and Mark Dixon travels from London to Cornwall with a Slovakian forklift-truck driver to keep him company

Steve Leicester delivers refrigerated goods bound for British armed forces to Lokeren in Belgium, where they are collected by Paul Scott and taken to Germany. Eric Cullen hauls paper destined for Scandinavia to Tilbury, and a road accident reminds him of the perils of the job, while a new recruit takes to the road for the first time

Edward Stobart Jr gets behind the wheel of a truck for the first time with his father William showing him the ropes, but he proves to be a nervous passenger. Driver Ashley finds himself in an awkward situation when his lorry collides with a car on the M1, and delivery man Tim also has a problem - he has a load of waste wood bound for a Swedish power station, but the traffic is against him

The company invests in an airline and its firefighters are delighted when they receive delivery of a new truck. Meanwhile, Stobart’s move into the timber business leads to a log wagon making a treacherous journey into the Scottish forests, with the driver negotiating narrow muddy paths and showing off his skills with the trailer-loading onboard crane.
